Wahoo! Nancy, it seems you like all my favorite books. Foucault's Pendulum is one of my all-time favorites. I won't tell why so as not to spoil it for anybody who hasn't read it yet. I haven't posted in a while, just been reading OP's postings...To the person reading Paris Out Of Hand, isn't it delightful? For the first time in my life I actually want to visit Paris, thanks to Gordon's cock-eyed perspective. Kinda made the whole world, even my familiar old hometown, more interesting by parodying local idiosyncracies. Guess that's why I like works by Bantock, E. Gorey, Tom Robbins, Umberto Eco, & Barbara Hodgson: the best authors have the ability to allow us to see through their eyes and open up a whole new universe to their readers. By golly, I just love books :)
