Question about ending of 'The Golden Mean'

From: Elizabeth, Bend, Oregon (US)

I realize there is a continuation of the Griffin & Sabine (The Gryphon), but as far as the ending (or rather pause in thier life on paper) can someone please help me decipher the meaning of the last correspondance. It means more to me than just a literary adventure...What does the child on the last postcard represent? A real child between Griffin and Sabine? A new beginning? An innocence re-born in the lives of two adults? Why does the postcard refer to the writer as a "WE"? Does it mean that Griffin and Sabine have finally been able to meet in the same dimension? Any ideas out there? In gratitude, Elizabeth
